Our Curriculum
Our school teaches 3 subjects: Islamic Studies, Arabic reading and Memorization of Qur’ân with Tajweed. We also teach Salah.
Islamic Students entails the students learning about the basics of Islam, including the 5 pillars, the articles of faith, stories of the Prophets, including the Seerah of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
Arabic reading includes teaching students how to read, starting out with letter identification, working through the harakats, joining small words and reading lines of the Qur’ân. Please note, that our school does not offer a curriculum on reading the Qur’ân from the front to the back.
In Qur’ân memorization class, every level has a set number of surahs to memorize and students will learn beyond that if they have completed the initial coursework.
In Salah class, we teach children how to do wudu and memorize all of the Surahs and small duas required to pray salah. The older levels often teach Salah in class and pray in jam’ah during Dhur prayer at the masjid.
Class Structure
We offer 6 Levels at this time, starting at age 5 until 15:
Level 1A: 5 year olds
Level 1B: 6 - 7 year olds
Level 2A: 8 - 9 year olds
Level 2B: 9 year olds
Level 3: 10 year olds
Level 4: 11 year olds
Level 5: 12 - 13 year olds
Level 6: 14 - 15 year olds
*Please note that a child’s level is initially based off of age and then adjusted based on the level of understanding conducted in an evaluation by the teachers
Schedule
Every subject is roughly 50 minutes, starting our day on Sundays ONLY at promptly 10:00am until 1:45pm.
